fall mini style

this are my favorite kind of posts.  scouring the internet for fashion forward pieces for my little people.  having girls to dress in clothing that I can only wish came in MY size is JUST amazing.  not to leave out you boy mamas, but ya'll.  the florals and texture and layers upon layers of trendy fall style for littles is over the top!  PLUS, lots of these styles are on sale (40% off at old navy!) and using code FALL4IT at gap will get you 40% off!  AND, you can earn gapcash with your purchases.

first up- the boho preppy style of layering in these two outfit options.  I see these outfits as something more special than preschool or a playdate this fall- how about some inspiration for your fall family photos?  in our fall pictures from last year we were MAD for PLAID and this year I'm super excited for what we have planned, but the layered look always makes any outfit look more dressed up.  this new plaid henley top from the pendleton collection at gap is just perfection!  you could mix and match this top + the tassle shawl sweater with the grey denim instead of the flare jeans, but I really LOVE flare jeans on my little ladies.  let me just say, lilly pulitzer cardigan is a monstrous splurge for toddler clothing, but I sized up so the girls can wear them through two seasons instead of one.  I did that last year with a handful of vests and cardigans and they still fit comfortably this season again.  the oversized look is "in" anyway.

so many fun things go along with this time of year and these outfits would be perfect for the pumpkin patch, apple picking, and of course church on sunday. how amazing are those mustard colored skinny corduroy pants?!  all three of my girls may have these cords and all three of them might be in the same amazing mustard color. hashtag: matchingforlife OR, even more so, matching IS life?  probably. 
the mix and match of pattern and texture between the floral blouse and the lace cardigan, as well as the knit weave of the cowl neck sweater and the corduroy pants is something that I love to do when I dress myself, so of course I carry that over to their wardrobe as best I can.
because sometimes they just want to wear their sweatpants and my little pony tee shirts and I don't fight it. (well, I don't fit it that hard.)

two words. moto leggings.  I was searching for a pair of moto pants for myself and fell upon a toddler version and about fell out of my chair! h+m is doing it right, ya'll!  and they are cheap (for what they are).  I love the edgy style mixed with the romantic look of the layered sweater or the boho style of the sleeveless sweater tunic. again, something I really focus on for my own style- so it is SO fun to find things in little girl styles, too! 
the real question is.. how long are you going to make me wait, Texas?!  I guess we'll just fake it till we make it until then:)

friday favorites | PJ love

we have a thing for pajamas.  
or.
well.
I might have the thing.
there is something about sleepwear for my girls that brings me back into wishing for more and more wee babies j u s t so I can dress them in something comfortable.
we spend a lot of time in our pajamas.
often times you will find us at home- and if we are at home usually we will be in our pajamas. 
because- how can you be comfortable in jeans when you are just hanging out at home?  
am I right?? 
Jordan doesn't count in this vote because he can legit take a nap in his blue jeans.
not me.
..and.  occasionally you will find us out in public in our pjs.
and by public I mean target.

 we really love them and our drawers basically overflow, and yet I still keep adding them to my virtual shopping cart and end up buying them eventually and when they arrive on our front doorstep its all of the sudden time to get ready for bed- at 3pm in the afternoon. 
its basically an endless cycle because, well toddler and baby jams are just the sweetest thing on the planet.
its totally fine.  because its always time for pajamas.

I got an email yesterday from the twins' preschool about pajama day next week. 
I promptly began planning out what exactly they were going to wear- and oh my goodness so many pajamas options.  
the big day is a week away.
and by big day I mean fun at school in their pajamas day.
I even hear there will be popcorn.

but back to the precious pajamas...
one of the best ways to celebrate a holiday is with festive pajamas.
..and cake.  or yeast rolls dipped in mashed potatoes, if you are the savory type..
so- with christmas come and gone we have Valentine's Day and Easter to look forward to and celebrate in our jams-

she knows the tune to my heart's strings.

Holiday Family Photos 2015

Family photos are one of those things that we all dread but totally look forward to at the same time..
Am I right?  The whole thing is an ORDEAL.  Getting my circus bathed, brushed, dressed, and diapered is an interesting feat- all whilst getting myself ready and sweating the whole way through.  
I occasionally have a mild panic attack moments before we are walking out the door to leave in hopes that I didn't actually forget about anything..
a bow. earrings (because earrings bring the entire outfit together, in my opinion). my lipstick. shoes?  I have been known to walk out the door without shoes on in a state of chaos and preoccupation.
All that being said- Brittany worked her magic, once again.  I am SO excited to share these photos as a family of f i v e!  These are the first of all of us since sweet Baker was just three days old.  Can you believe that was four months ago??  Where is time going?
Britt captured so much sweetness in these photos.  My big girls are just darling, and the littlest with her bright eyes and kissable cheekies

mama + mini style | chambray + buffalo

There is so much to look forward to this time of year and among the festive fall activities, Salted Caramel Mochas (my weakness!), and picking out the perfect pumpkins there are the outfits and wardrobe changes that take place, too!  I am a huge fan of comfy tunics and riding boots.. not to mention the blanket scarf.  I have a real problem with collecting every print + pattern, and theres always next year to get more.  While it is cool in the mornings here in Texas right now, by lunch time we are shedding the layers.  But a Southern Girl can hope and pray for the cooler weather to stick around here soon.

For the last several years Jordan and I have taken 'family pictures' when the cool weather months hit, and these pictures serve their purpose for documenting our lives every year, but also for our Christmas Card.  Now that we have babes to share the frame with, the pictures have become even more fun to plan.  
Baby clothes are freaking awesome.  
Who cares what I am wearing.. What are they going to wear.
We have never done a very Christmas-y theme for our photos and this year I wanted that to change.

Mama + Mini Style | Golden Hill Design + Giveaway

I am lucky.  Like WAY lucky.  I always appreciate (and love) the opportunity to share some pretty cool brands that I believe in, but when I get to be apart of the release of products for one of my favorite shops, I just get giddy with excitement. 
Excitement over clothes? Yes.  Duh.  I am a mother of toddlers and a baby that dress better than me most of the time.  So yes- excited over the clothes we get to wear.  
What I really get excited about (and truthfully humbled by) is the fact that these brands trust me to share and do justice to their hard work.  
For some of these small shops, its their livelihood - and I get to be apart of that.
Thats huge.  This is part of the reason why I absolutely believe in shopping small whenever I can.

Golden Hill Design is no stranger to this blog.  I had the privilege of working with these sweet ladies early in my pregnancy with Baker and have continued to support them (as they support me) in their new endeavor of growing a brand that has proven to be quiet amazing.
This summer I had a hard time figuring out how to dress Baker.  Since the twins were born in the dead of winter I was used to covering my babies from head to toe, but Baker didn't need so many layers in the Texas summer heat.  The cool comfort of GHD's skinny minny tank top onesies saved the day.  Since the cooler temperatures of fall have hit in Texas, I've been layering these tank top onesies under sweaters and cardigans and they are not too bulky and fit just right.. until its 80 degrees in the afternoon and the sleeveless option of these onesies are perfect.  The fabrics these ladies choose are basically perfect.. and please say hello to solid colors!  No animals or cutesy sayings.  Because sometimes its not about a froggy face on a white onesie.  
  
When the ladies behind GHD asked me to be apart of their fall release I said sure! but I actually didn't know HOW AWESOME their new products would be!  A few highlights I'd light to mention:
The fabrics - light, breathable, and oh-so-soft.
The colors - some are classic GHD.. like the urban brown I cannot get enough of! BUT - their newest addition of rose and navy are superbly on point.
The sleeves - long sleeves and side rouching.  Yes and yes.

 THIS Jolie Grace.  She really loves the camera.  Such a sweet little girl I am raising.  

 Miss Baker!  Darling girl doesn't quiet know what to do or think about those crazy sisters of hers running amok for the camera.  Her button nose and those baby blues.. your daddy doesn't stand a chance, girlfriend. She found her tongue this last week and spit bubbles and drooling have commenced.  Thank goodness for our reversible trendy little bandana bib.  I didn't think teeny baby things could get cuter.  
I continue to be proven wrong!
 Those baby thighs, though.  
 Mama got in on the fun, too! I feel like these baseball style tees run true to size - they are very stretchy and hold their shape well (awesome for nursing and forgiving for every body type) but for me and the postpartum 'pooch' that hasn't gone away just yet.. I would size up for a more relaxed fit. 


 Parker's face says it all.  That girl.  Giving me a run for my money these days.  BUT- three babies looking at the camera?  I'll take it:)

Fall Dreaming | Mini Style

Its hot. 
Sweltering hott (with an extra 't').  Would you believe that we are actually having a mild summer?
Its only hit 100 degrees a handful of times and we even had a cold front come in over the weekend, bringing us down to 95.  
Blech.  
Thankfully I wasn't completely miserable while pregnant this summer, but postpartum - you guys.. I am basically suffocating.  These hormones are raging, not to mention breastfeeding keeps me in a constant state of sweat. Lets just say I haven't shut down the 'no-pants club' just yet.
  
When my girls were asked to style the Madame Pear collections for Taylor Joelle, I just about died when I received these skirts in the mail.  
Day dreams of fall weather started cranking through my head.. and I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. 
I could go ahead and throw myself of the bandwagon of #OMGILOVEFALL, because, I really do.  
But, it doesnt take a Pumpkin Spice Latte (that would be PSL in the social world) and Hobby Lobby's premature display of all things orange + brown AND the race to finish Christmas shopping by mid September to put me over the edge of excitement.  I actually prefer the Salted Caramel Mocha over that pumpkin drink, anyway.. 
BUT- this year I am more excited to be non-sweaty than I am about hoarding 37 pumpkins and gourds on my front porch.
Just saying.

It seems like across the board with shops (big and small) now is the time to start thinking about fall things (it gets earlier every year, doesn't it?).  
I get so excited to scroll through my IG (@masseya) and see all the cooler weather inspiration, because..
mustard color anything is my love language. 

 I was in search of a good denim shirt for the girls, and came upon both of these in the boys section of H+M.  I confess to have shopped the boys section of the store since my days of toting wee teeny babes in the enormous double stroller through Carter's in search of onesies and pajamas. 
I needed options! Besides, their daddy is a firefighter, so they can get away with a fire truck plastered across their baby bootie.
While the girls aren't always wearing boy gear, I do browse just in case I find something perfect for what I had in mind..
which is exactly what happened when I came upon these shirts. 
I have grand plans of pairing that cream and blue 'blouse' with leggings and boots and throwing a vest over it.  I picked up a couple hot pink puffer vests over the weekend (Target does it again), and now I'm wishing for the entire outfit in my size.
