God's Work of Art

Last night, it rained a VERY short bit at our house, (we are grateful for what we can get!) but, after the sprinkling was over, a beautiful rainbow was left in the sky! I was doing my Quiet Time this morning and remembered about the gorgeous site we had witnessed and decided to look up what it said about rainbows in God's Word. In Genesis, The story of Noah, it states the meaning of a rainbow in the sky..Thought I would share that..along with a few pictures I took.

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Genesis 9:12-16

Our New House!!

240 Aspenway Drive...The NEW Massey Residence!

Finally! We bought a home in Coppell, and it is just too darn cute for words!! We are SOO excited to finally have a place of our own..with a yard and driveway and garage! Oh, and a cute little porch :)

We, well, really, Jordan and his dad and mom spent about two weeks painting and replacing and scraping ect, ect, on this house to make it look the way it does now. A few things we did:
Replaced all the light fixtures/ceiling fans..replaced the sink and countertops..scraped the popcorn ceilings..customized the cabinetspainted EVERY stitch of the house!!!

There are still things we want to do..like redo the bathrooms and garage, and repainting the front of the house (You know you like the green and red!! Although it is festive, it has got to go!) But, with Jordan in Paramedic School, we are waiting until December to tear them apart :)

Enjoy!!

Jordan's Promotional Ceremony

This past week Jordan was promoted to Driver within the Irving Fire Department. Such an accomplishment at the young age of 26, and I am so proud of him! To promote within the Department, the men have to take an exam, and based on their score and the number of available positions determines whether or not they promote. Jordan scored a 96! YAAY! So, needless to say, he promoted, and is now a Driver for the IFD. Three other men promoted, and there was also a Lieutenant promotion and a welcoming of three new Rookies. It was a fun and memorable time, and I'm so glad I was apart of it. The only thing now is that he has to go to Paramedic School for the next 6 months!! He'll be driving the fire engine and the ambulance. So, happy studying to my Jordan! I know he says he is dreading it, but, he will do so well, like always!

Just a few pictures from the event :)
Jordan and Greg..Both promoted to Driver! They are standing with the City Bell, which they rang once they took their oath.

Jordan and his Dad (He's been with the department for 30 years!!) Roy is a Driver also.

' Wreyford' (Greg), 'Goose' (David), and 'Golden Boy' (Jordan)

It never fails for the boys to have several nicknames within the fire department!

This is such a moment! I was privileged to pin Jordan with his new Driver badge, like the other wives did that went before us. The other wives gave their hubby a little kiss after pinning her man, and I didn't get to it as fast as the other 75 guests in the room wanted me to! The firefighters all started making 'kissing' noises, making the situation even MORE awkward!! All we could do was laugh..and then I gave him his much deserved kiss :)

Me, Jordan and Chief Molina preparing to pin Jordan. We removed his Firefighter Badge to replace it with his Driver Badge.

Welcome to Our Page!!

Welcome to the Massey Blog!! We have been married for 3 years on August 13th of this year :) I recently graduated from Texas Woman's University with my degree in Dietetics and am currently working at Baylor Specialty Hospital ('Big Baylor') in Dallas as a Diet Tech. Hopefully I'll be getting an intership within the next year, and I will then be: Amber Massey, RD, LD! YAAY! My sweet husband has just been promoted to the Driver position within the Irving Fire Department. He studied long and hard for that exam, and he pulled through with a fantastic score and was promoted! (Pictures to come!)

We have recently bought a home in Coppell, Texas and are so excited to be finally settled in! We still have a few boxes, here and there, but, after this weekend my 'Honey-Do' list will be complete :) Through all we have been through, together as one, this past year, we have been amazed by God's sweet, sweet Grace!
