In Bloom

Bluebonnets.  The most commonly seen flower along roadsides and in uncultivated pastures throughout the state of Texas.. and where did we find this "field" of dainty little plants?
On the side of the road. Naturally.

March through May these blue beauties overtake the green and offer up prime photography opportunity for families. Particularly families with young children.  It's like visiting Santa in these parts.  You do it.  Your Texas baby (or babies) won't be Texan without the bluebonnets.

..and I'm totally serious.

Our first bluebonnets experience could probably classify as a total fail.
Jolie.  She hated it. Every minute.
If she could talk she probably would be screaming the same baby profanities as she was in this picture.
Parker didn't seem to mind.  She popped a squat right there on top of those flowers.
You aren't supposed to actually pick the flowers.  Parker didn't listen.
She didn't eat them, though.
Win in my book.
A successful picture of the two of them looking at the camera.
Boo Bear was loving the bluebonnets.  She has a thing for those flower weeds in the backyard.  With a never-ending stock of flower heads to pull, the poor girl didn't have enough 'hand space' to carry her bunches.

Oh, how I dream of those tiny flowers she will pick one day, bringing them to me to put in a water glass vase and proudly present them on the counter top for all to see.
When your child has learned how to play 'peek-a-boo' you can no longer use that game to attempt to make her laugh or look in the general direction of the camera.
But it still works for at least one of them..

These girls share her love for Prints & Stripes.
 Don't eat it.

..and its over.  Story of my life.
Time to remove ourself from the roadside.  Until next year, Texas Blues!

Jesus Saves, Bro

I posted this picture to Instagram on Good Friday this weekend..and there were several reasons why I was so excited about it.
ONE.)  I mean.. the obvious.  They are 100% precious to the bone.  Agree with me or not, but I'm their mother and the world could come crashing down and I probably wouldn't notice due to my mind consummation of these sweet faces. Plus, both if them are actually looking in the general direction of the camera.
B.) Those shirts. Riley Clay of greythread has some seriously cute stuff for littles.  If only I had unlimited funds.  If only.
THREE.) The leggings.  THESE leggings.  Soft, amazing quality, and breathable for the upcoming summer months.  $13 bucks, y'all. THIRteen.  sold..duh

I was regrammed by all three of these favorite shops of mine..AND landed on the popular page. I need an emoticon to go here.
And why my Mac didn't autocorrect 'emoticon' is halfway crazy to me.

Of course there was more than just one photo worth sharing, but I have to refrain myself from over posting on the 'gram (follow along @masseya).
Don't want to overwhelm anybody.  Believe me I can do it.

Jolie.  You look OLD.
Stop.
Listen to your mother.

Jolie's hair is on the crazy train.  Curly?  Sort of.  Stick Straight?  Almost.  Frizz?  Often.  Amazing?Definitely.
I've taken to actually 'fixing' it every morning.  Again after meals.  Then once again after nap.  After bath that mess is out.of.control.
Love every inch of it.
It wouldn't be a twin post without the twin love.  Kisses (we call them 'sugars' and have done so since they were days old.) have been a regular activity for a couple months now..
The rather aggressive hugging business is new.  Probably a month now.  Typically these two come tumbling to the floor after a hug like this.
Everyone needs to hug like that.  The world would be a much better place.
..and then just like that..
 ..its all over.
Dunnzo.

Easter Fun {2014}

It was another weekend of first's for the Massey's!  We have officially entered into the 'fun parents of toddlers' stage.  See also 'attempt to commit to everything under the sun'

We started our weekend with our very first Easter Egg Hunt.. except my brain thought for sure that the hunt started at 11am.  But, no.  10am was the start time- and much to my surprise when we walked in the door at 11:08am to find kiddos bouncing off the walls hyped on half eaten bags of candy.
Oops.  My brain is not here, clearly.

Thankfully I have super sweet friends and they re-filled some of the left over eggs for my little birds to "hunt".

So, here we are.. hunting.
After showing Parker and Jolie once over the concept, they picked it up super quick.  Totally impressed momma over here.
How sweet is this picture?  My heart is so full!

Sunday morning we woke extra early to get ourselves ready for our first Easter Sunday service as a family.  Last year we went out of town with 4 month old baby girls to visit family and so we did not actually go to church.  I was so excited to go this year- no only for the obvious reason of celebration, but of course to see all the colorful outfits in the crowds of people attending service.

But first.. Easter baskets.

Books (with fuzzy animals). bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles.. big colorful bracelets, Frozen, Finding Nemo.. and a couple of quacking ducklings (that have proven to almost be a $5 mistake.)
After church we headed over to the Massey's for brunch and family time.  Parker and Jolie love their Papa's dog, Maggie.
Cousin Kendall loves that doggie, too!
Parker was in a particularly sour mood.. teething is in full swing for the past week.  Notice the puckered lips.. she sucks on her lips to help soothe sore gums. Other than a few melt downs, she did well overall with all the stimulus of the holiday.
 ..again with the lips.
In all sweetness there ever was.. this is at the top.
No..wait.  This is at the top.  A momma and her girls.

This Jolie Grace girl has my heart.
 Bubbles!  All is right in the world with these two when we pull the bubbles out.  {make note of sweet Parker and her sore gums.}

We're learning to smile for the camera these days.. that or the fact she can see herself on the screen.. I'm claiming the smile on cue bit.
Attempt number one at an Easter family picture.  Parker is loving life.
Attempt number two.  My little family was dead tired by this last photo of the afternoon.   And the fact that Jolie's bow is literally on top of her head.  I needed a nap myself.

Our Easter celebration weekend was full! Much to remember about our Lord and Savior's resurrection.  I cannot express enough that our hearts are full.

And so are our bellies.  I probably ate Jolie's own weight in honey baked ham and Hawaiian rolls. and loaded potato casserole.  and bacon wrapped green beans.

..and banana pudding.

..pudding.

..pudding for breakfast! #mondaymorningfuel
