sunday was amazing.  I truly enjoyed every single minute spent with friends and family.  It seems like life just keeps on getting better- living amongst chaos just about everyday, but God is good.
so good.
He is invading my present reality + untangling my past + bringing hope of the future into the present.

I am redeemed because He lives!
I hope your Easter Sunday was beautiful, friends!

friday favorites | good friday edition

good friday.
its been extra quiet around these parts this week.  not intentionally.  mostly because that day to day life has been hedging its way into my blogging time.. I keep thinking that life will slow down at some point, but alas- it never does.  we keep piling it on and adding more things- but life is good.
its good on this good friday.
this week we spent so much time together- and reflecting on the weekend ahead and embracing the blessings the Lord has giving us.. even when they don't even look like blessings.  He's always teaching and its amazing how we look back on particular life situations and find ourselves going
'oh,  I gotcha.'
it was this time two years ago that I was desperately crying out the Lord for peace about what was happening in my life.  so many questions surrounding the loss of our first baby.
why.why.why.
it was this time one year ago that I was praising His name as I sat in an empty nursery with a healthy baby Baker wiggling in my belly.
life had come full circle.
He is good.
--
I am so excited for this weekend.  We are sharing some baby firsts with our baby girl- who is about to by NINE months old and I am just not dealing with it well at all..
the big girls have finally started to understand a little more about 'holidays' and the fun things that go along with it.  there is a big egg hunt tomorrow morning and they have been talking non-stop about it since they did a mini-egg hunt at preschool yesterday.  they know the drill and want to just hunt the eggs over and over and over.

eggs.
find the eggs.
said eggs have candy.

personalized matching jams.  you know I wouldn't have it any other way, right?

I, for one, am so excited about filling their Easter baskets as I mentioned a couple weeks ago (here). I know they'll be in jellybean overload after tomorrow's egg hunt and festivities.. so finding some non-candy options were important! I thought Jordan's eyes were about to roll out of his head when he saw the Peppa Pig dvd's land on our doorstep.  what can I say.. he's not a Peppa fan.  these sticker books and I absolutely could not pass up the tutu lulu ballerina bunny for the big girls.  Target did me good with barbie princesses and bubble wands.
I grabbed a couple of these tee shirts for the big girls and couldn't finish checking out without two of these tribe bracelets (on sale!) for mama.
I took a peek into Auntie's baskets she delivered for the babes yesterday- bathing suits- including this one for the twins and this teeny bikini for Baker girl.. spring dresses, and my little ponies.
she always does so good.
Saturday morning will start with yummy breakfast pizza and too many cups of coffee, and probable;y a handful of donut holes before heading out to the egg hunt!  Sunday, in a sea of colorful Easter dresses we will listen to the Easter message before heading for family brunch/lunch/dinner.  I'm bringing this corn dip and really thinking about making yummy bread pudding, too!
Oh, and did I mention that we will have Grayson all weekend?!  Ashley's brother is getting married and we are baby G duty until Sunday.
embracing the crazy, ya'll.

I hope your weekend is crazy amazing!  so many reasons to be thankful and celebrate our risen Son.
XO!

life lately | camera roll

happy monday!  I found myself going through my camera roll for like a half hour last night after the babes were in bed.. I always do that, am I the only one?  surely not!  after it was all said and done I ended up going and giving the big girls an extra kiss goodnight and laid a hand on Baker's back before going to bed myself.  doing that right before I go to sleep makes we just want to wake them and give them a tight squeeze.. and then send then right back to bed:)

we have been so busy around these parts lately.  well, always.  but lately its been more of the fun busy than the obligatory busy.
three growing girls
these girls are outrageously funny.  half the time I am dying of laughter and the other half I am pulling my hair out.  the big girls are completely obsessed with Baker and the feelings are absolutely mutual.  she stops at nothing to keep up with those two.. which is why it doesn't surprise me at all that she is so much busier than the twins ever were at this age.  I honestly never really 'baby proofed' the house when the twins were little.. we kept them pretty contained.  oh, but with Miss Baker.  baby proofing is ON.  she's into everything!
we celebrated Dr. Suess' birthday at preschool and thanks to my girl Britt, she gave me all the tools I needed for a super easy DIY costume.  if you know me, you know I don't have a DIY bone in my body.  I wish I did.  so bad.  I am creative, no doubt- but putting it all together myself - I often leave that to my favorite small shops.  so- what that means is that this was a simple as it gets, but they look SO cute, right?!  they loved it!
Parker and Jolie went to their first 'dress-up' birthday party last week.  Parker was all about that Janet Jackson and Jo shocked me when she picked the pop star glitter mini dress over the gigantic princess dresses they had available.
nail polish + glitter up-do's + eye shadow + face tattoos
dolled and dressed to the 9's!!
at the end they were sad to have to give back all of their accessories- but good news.  we got to keep the purple hair extensions.
we randomly packed up and made a trip to the lake to visit granny and woogie for a couple days.  the twins LOVE it there and of course the moment we turn onto their private gravel road leading to their front drive the twins hop into the front seat!
I don't even recognize her!  she's getting so big.  her long legs and her sweet face changing by the day- getting longer and losing that baby chub to her cheeks. but her eyes when she smiles- they haven't changed a bit! I cant even describe the joy this girl brings me.  this age with Jolie Grace is really fun. she is SO silly.  her daddy dressed her that day- even tied her hair wrap and goodness she was so proud and in love.
also.. these cotton shorties from Target are perfect for the warm weather months to come. we have them in every color!
Jordan's Aunt Jenny - who we call Cookie - lives in Seattle so we don't get to see her very often.  the girls know who she is and love to FaceTime here and there.  we recently set a standing bedtime story date for Tuesday nights.  we exchange books and read them together two thousand miles apart.
last week's read?
and this week the girls will have their first read through the three little pigs.
that social life
a couple weekends back we went out for Jordan's 34th slash date night with friends slash becoming groupies to one of our favorite musicians.  we started the evening at Queenie's for tapas and wine and then headed out to meet up with more friends and enjoy live music.
we live in the next town over from a college town.. and it was early (before 10pm), so we were having a grand ol' time- girls up at the front doing a little jig and the husbands standing in the back with their beers.
**can you pick me out in the lady crowd?**
midnight came fast- and goodness I have never felt so old.  college felt like SO LONG AGO, and it was time to go when the bar filled with the 21+up crowd.. mostly twenty one.
it was a fantastic, much needed, adult's night out!
the next day Jordan cashed in his birthday present to himself..
he's been wanting to get something to represent the two miscarriages we had in 2014.  he has tattoos for all three of the girls, and it didn't feel right for him to not have something for those babies in heaven, too.
I.love.it.  its really awesome and even more so because it has serious sentimental thought to it.
on the move
this little girl is going through some fierce changes developmentally. she's most definitely cutting more teeth.  she's most definitely going through a growth spurt.  and she is most definitely taking assisted steps and pulling herself to a standing position without help- like free standing.
she is eight months.  how is this happening?!
she is waking 1-2 times at night searching for her paci and then nose diving into her mattress once she find it.. and then there is at least once a night that she insists on having a snack to get her through the rest of the night.  I'm just going with it- this too shall pass.. but omgggg, I'm so tired.

the weather has been ridiculous.  seventy-five to eighty degree temps on the regular.  we have been eating it up!  spending as much time outside as possible!  with the longer days it really has felt more like summer than spring.
 bow // onesie
...and then in true Texas fashion the temps dip to the 40's + 50's this past weekend.
a couple months back Jordan and I got ourselves a fitbit and we have been loved using it as we are really trying to be more active.  we've been going on 4 mile walks around our neighborhood everyday as weather permits, and while we can feel the benefits- its getting the girls in the habit of being active.. and wearing them out for a solid afternoon nap or early bedtime!
Jordan pushes the double stroller and me and B are in the single.
most of the time the twins will run along side the stroller and Baker will cat nap here and there.
and we always end at the park to let the big girls swing and go down the slide a handful of times.
that about rounds out life as of late.  we've got a fun week + weekend ahead of us- its going to be a beautiful time for egg hunting and celebrating Jesus!  another Baker's first and I have had the best time finding fun things to fill the big girls' Easter baskets.  this is the first year we have really done much as far as the 'easter bunny' is concerned.  ohhh- its going to be so good!

friday favorites | free babes handmade

haaaaappy friday, folks!  it has been a doozy of a week and I am eager for the weekend to get here.. anyone wanna meet on the patio for a 'rita and guac?  the weather has been unreal this week so we have big plans to be outside as much as we can!  a little taste of Spring has got me really eager to fast forward to the warmer months to come!  as me in July how I'm feeling about the 'warmer' weather.  I'll probably be singing a different tune..
ANYway.
today I am so excited to be sharing with you our favorite sweet little bow shop.  truth be told, since the twins were born I've been a bit of a bow fanatic.  its carried over to the third baby girl and if I'm being honest, miss Baker Bree has a bigger collection than her sisters and there are two of them!  when the big girls sort of made that transition to busy bee toddlerdom, pulling back their hair into little piggies and ponytails became the norm and finding something simple to accessorize became relevant.
I was introduced to free babes via hilary's instagram a little over a year ago and fell in love!
after Baker was born our collection of free babes petite schoolgirls multiplied- because how sweet does it look on her baby head??!
..and a handful of sailors also have made their way into our collection.
oh- and the mini sailors are just as precious.

ya'll.  we love them.  all of them.
when we don't have a big fat sparkly bow in our hair (wink, wink) free babes is our go-to.
simple + sweet.  not to mention the rainbow of color choices gives me every reason to have a piggie clip set for every outfit.
you know what I'm talking about.
let's kick off the weekend with a giveaway, shall we?
I've teamed up with free babes handmade to offer one lucky winner $50 shop credit towards anything they wish!  as a mama to multiple little girls, $50 goes a long way.  and with the array of colors free babes offers in both her petite school girl (our favorite!) and precious sailor bows- what better way to celebrate the approaching spring season than with bright hair accessories for your sweet girls?!

bubble bath fun with the first years disney baby

bath time.  one of our favorite parts of the day.  I cant even mention the word b a t h without Parker stripping to her bare bottom and hi-tailing it onto the empty tub.  when we had the opportunity to play with some new bath toys from the first years the girls were PUMPED!
I'm quite sure the big girls drank way too much bathwater tea playing with the Minnie Mouse bath tea set.  I mean, over and over and over.. they even let Baker get in on that bath time beverage.
Jolie kept saying "its time for TEEE kah-kerr (Parker)!"
Baker spent most of her time with the squirt toys- I mentioned in her 8 month update that she's a big fan of these and when it was all said and done we loaded up the toys to drip dry in the Minnie Mouse bath scoop and storage.

but of course there were bubbles. lots and lots of them.
thank you to the first years for sponsoring this post and to the talented Brittany for snapping these fun pictures of my sweet girls.
so thankful for you, girlfriend!!
the first years disney baby bath products are available at Babies R Us and Amazon

eight month favorites

now that we have a baby on the move, her favorites have changed quite a bit.  she doesn't sit long enough before she's on to the next one. not to mention the serious need to keep up with the cool kids in her life, she's got to have something that holds her attention for longer than eleven seconds.
you can go ahead and throw on this list the hairbrush, wooden mickey mouse shaped magnets you can find littered about the kitchen floors, barbie doll legs and arms- good for chewing- and legos.  the big kind. also good for chewing.

felt storage basket.  I randomly came across this storage bin while looking for Easter baskets for the babes.  I was unsuccessfully using a dainty little wire basket, but as her toy collection has grown over the last eight months, that basket wasn't cutting it any more.  I l.o.v.e. this basket.  it is rather deep, but its fantastic for holding all of Baker's smallish toys - AND it has handles making it easy to move from room to room if need be.  I want like five more of these guys.
sit to stand walker.  we pulled both this walker and that music activity table down from the attic earlier this month.  rather than Baker pull up on everything dangerous in sight (!!!), she pulls up and stays put for several minutes- thank heavens!  we thrifted both of these toys when the twins were wee bits and they are still in excellent condition.  one of the few things we kept and I'm sure glad we did!
bath toys. the best time of the day is bath time.  not only for loosening the layer of food covering every inch of her little body, but she has the BEST time playing in the water and splashing about.  soaking her mama is the name of the game, and she always wins:)  when she's not attempting to climb out of the tub (!!!) she loves these squirt toys and these floating balls. they keep her busy enough for me to get her lathered up before she starts off like a little motorboat around and around that tub. I swear the twins were never this busy.  maybe I'm just in denial, but I swear.
snack cups.  now that Baker is eating solid food and snacks, I have been making a point to bring snacks and food along for her when we are out and about.  I relied on these stackable snack containers when the twins were little and have once again found good use out of them.  cheerios, yogurt melts, baby puffs.. sliced strawberries, apples, peas.. you name it.  its easy to have those on hand and I toss the cylinder in my diaper bag and we are off!  I also have used this similar snack container and I like it just the same.
rainbow stacker.  she hasn't figured out how to legitimately stack the rings, but we have been practicing on it- but most of the time the wooden rings end up in her mouth.  I suppose this age is all about the chew toys.  doesn't stop me from keep up with her fine motor skills!

what have been your favorite toys since your babe became mobile??

hope spoken 2016

jesus was here.
it was a weekend filled with just as it is described.
hope.  the most perfect theme for the many different walks of life that sat in those chairs as we all listened, cried, shouted in joy, and sang in praise of His holy name.

I have been looking forward to this weekend for months (literally) and I couldn't believe it was already that time- sitting in the Sonic parking lot last May, really really pregnant and feeling the sense of need.  I really needed to attend this weekend hosted here in Dallas- even though I didn't know a single soul.  by the time this weekend arrived a lot had changed in those months leading up and it couldnt have come at a better time.  I needed to recharge.  a rejuvenation of my mama heart. and hope spoke came barreling through and swept me off my feet in all its gracious glory.
driving out to dallas, I turned off my radio and just prayed.  prayed that the Lord would show me clear direction in this life stage I'm in and for the Lord to speak truth into the anxieties that are not of Him.  we have some big things happening in the coming months and I just needed some peace about it.  I pulled into the parking lot and with a glimpse of several other ladies that looked as if they were attending the conference as well, I squeezed my eyes shut one last time and hopped out of the car and headed in towards registration.

friday night started with dinner and worship.  I sat down at one of the large round tables near the front (I have terrible "postpartum eyes" and really like to sit near the front) and a couple other girls came trickling in around me.  one sweet woman sat directly across from me and after literally a few short sentences of introducing ourselves the Lord revealed himself to me for the first (of many) times that weekend.  He showed me the peace I had been begging for not even an hour before in the car.
okay, God. I see you.
I teared up.  the first of many times over the course of friday to sunday, and then apologized for that girl had no idea what she had just done for me.  we parted ways after dinner and worship and I met my small group - I always feel SO anxious when joining a group of other women.  as if my story is any less messy than the rest of them, but I'm afraid that anxiety will never go away.
quickly we became comfortable- this group of women was carefully selected and I couldnt have asked for better ladies to spend my time with!  I mean, yea, the Lord has his hand in all things, but when you can clearly see it, once again I am grabbing my chest in amazement as how very good He is.
throughout the rest of the weekend I spent a lot of time by myself.
I spent a lot of time sharing my story and listening to other women share their stories.  recognizing how God is using all of us in the most unique way.
"God is in the business of using the unlikely."
Jesus wants us right where we are.  no matter what mess of life we are in.  finding rest in that and knowing that He meets me even in the lowest of low.
and he was there.  everyone felt it.

but this weekend wasn't at all about me.  it was all about Him.
I was able to experience Jesus in such a way that I had been longing for. so much about my life right now is just c r a z y.  I am able to find joy + love in every insane moment, but often lately I've felt simply out of control- which doesn't boast well for my type A brain.  but after three kids who can say they are actually type A anymore?  and if they can. show them to me and teach me their ways..
although I speak to Jesus often, its rare for me to hold focus on Him and not on myself long enough for to actually listen/feel/witness His response.
oh. but He was here.

I learned very real answers to my life's questions as of late.
questions I'm not ready to share about just yet, but having Him speak clearly to me over this weekend has given me hope + courage to bring those the light sooner rather than later.
what may look like a 'no' just might really be a 'yes'.
those words from the closing speaker on Sunday morning have sung deep to my heart over this last week.  those words I prayed so diligently just before walking through the doors to hope spoken were clearly cut to reign in His glory and were presented to me in the most perfect way.
I left their feeling refreshed.  revived.  rejuvenated.
Good Lord,  you.are.amazing.
