five on Friday

its FRIDAY!!  I slept in until 7am this morning + woke to a bed full of babies, so I would say its off to an amazing start.  we don't have a ton of plans this weekend.. a family birthday party/dinner on Saturday afternoon but other than that we are just laying low.  J is at the fire station so we may bring the toddler party to him!

one of THE COOLEST toys we have ever had. I was introduced to Camp Castle through an acquaintance on Instagram (I love that place) and I was floored at the quality and detail of this mat when it arrived. I am OBSESSED!  I have been watching my girls play on this mat for hours since it hit our doorstep and I think you guys should totally get in on this goodness, too. they are working hard to get their brand up and running for a final release around Christmas (perfect timing!!) its 100% wipeable surface with a matte texture (no pet hair!) and a grippy backing to keep it from sliding all over the place while the girls play.  it pretty much has a permanent place in our entry way, but when its time to pick it up, I just roll it up and stick it in the hall closet until we are ready to play with it again!

two. amazing giveaways over on the 'gram!
its been a busy week! I have partnered with two awesome brands to bring you a couple fun giveaways over on my Instagram page. enter HERE for your chance to win one amazing swim suit of your choice from Albion Fit (I'm wearing this top in a size XS and these bottoms in a size small!) I'll announce the winner on Saturday, but in the meantime use code: MASSEYA15 at checkout for 15% off your purchase!
the other giveaway is for a 4 moms mamaRoo4!!  4 moms is launching their new mamaRoo4, but also their collaboration and commitment to the non-profit project sweet peas, supporting families that have experienced a stay in the NICU.  I'll be selecting a winner today, but you still have time to enter + nominate a NICU mama HERE.

three. SAHM status
I mentioned in my post earlier this week that I'll be a staying home with the kiddos.. actually working from home as a stitch fix stylist, but not having a commute and being home with the girls and Brady.  I've had some (major) anxieties about it because I have always worked outside the home, but we have been praying for a long time about how we would make this work.. and finally its come to the point for us to pull the trigger.  my last day is next week and I'm both nervous and excited!  I will also be able to devote more time to the blog.. and have been working with Kate Handling Creative  for a major overhaul and new design, so stay tuned for that update, soon!!

four. sister girls
the cutest thing ever has been happening in our house for about a week. Baker moved into a "big girl bed" a couple weeks ago and she's been doing an awesome job sleeping in her room!
we have been reading books together in Parker + Jolie's room at night before bed and one night last weekend Baker asked to "stay" while she was snuggled up in Jolie's bed.  Jordan has been talking about Baker eventually wanting to sleep in the room with the twins, but I didn't think that would ever happen..but I was totally wrong.  Jordan called it!  Baker has been sleeping on the floor of the twins room on her crib mattress that we had stored in her closet after replacing it with her twin size mattress. the most adorable thing ever.. and now I'm contemplating moving a bed into the twins room for Baker?? we are in the middle of making a 'big girl' space for her in her room, but we actually still have the other twin size bed that the twins used stored in the garage.. maybe I'll set that up, too?

five. NASHVILLE
me and my honey are heading to Nashville next week.. just the two of us!  we are road tripping and stopping for a night in Memphis for some amazing BBQ and then heading to spend a handful of days in downtown Nashville.  I've got a list going for places to see + yummy food to eat, but if you've been there or live there, send all your recs my way!!  I am so excited for this trip!

happy Friday, ya'll!  I hope everyone has had an awesome week.. lets hop into this weekend asap!

The Johnny Cash museum! It's a must. We had a few days to play there before the NRA show for work two years ago and the museum is a must. And we made the drive out to the Loveless Cafe for the biscuits. Worth. The. Drive. Have so much fun! @MrsShannonClark

We live in Franklin, right outside of Nashville and I'm from Memphis so I'm pretty picky about my BBQ in Memohis you should try Cozy Corner BBQ or Germantown Commissary or Central BBQ. In Nashville there are so many great dining options, Rolf and Daughters, City House, Pinewood Social. Grab a donut at 5 Daughters Bakery and do brunch at BiscuitLove. You have to get hot chicken - we like Hattie B's and Prince's (it's more authentic). If you have time to venture away from the honky tonks downtown, we have a great vineyard about 20 miles outside of the city that is owned by Kix Brooks - Arrington Vibeyards, they have live music on the weekends and is really fun! If you want to do something that's a little off the beaten path, we have great stand up paddle boarding on the rivers here. If you're a country music fan, of course check out the Ryman, Country music hall of fame and the downtown bars. But beware, downtown is bachelorette party central on the weekends lol. There are tons of other great places too depending on what part of town you're staying in. Enjoy your time together, that sounds so fun! I need to get away with my hubby soon too.

Went to Nash last September with my girlfriends and had a blast! If you can score a ticket for the Nash Trash tour, do it! So fun and gives you a good intro to the city. We LOVE to eat local so we did a food tour with Walk Eat Nashville that was a blast. We also did a tour of the Country HOF that was fun and a great way to beat the heat a bit. At night, we just wandered Broadway. There are tons of fun spots. We would go in and check out the music. If we liked it, we stayed...if not, we just hopped to the next spot. GREAT CITY!

Congratulations on the change to staying home. What a blessing! I made the switch 1 year ago (exactly) and I'll never regret it. Can't wait to see what unfolds for you in this new chapter. All the Best, girl!

I used to live in Memphis and agree with Emily...commissary or central. They can get really busy so go at an off time. Also, Muddy's Bake Shop in Memphis is soooo good!! I miss it so much. Their Prozac cupcakes are delicious! https://www.muddysbakeshop.com

I live in Nashville, and it so so awesome! Great date night places are 5th and Taylor, City House, Lockeland Table, Henrietta Red, and Husk for lunch. The cheeseburger there is AMAZING. Hattie B's or Princes for hot chicken is a MUST. The HattieB's on Charlotte is bigger and has a lot smaller line. Radnor Lake or Percy Warner for a good hike. The best pulled pork ever is Peg Leg Porker. Best breakfast is Loveless Cafe or Pancake Pantry. The baseball stadium is really cool, and has a great view of downtown. Nashville Sounds. Every Thursday, Live on the Green is in public square park. Not country music, but always really good bands. Robert's Western World and Acme are the 2 best bars on lower Broadway. . Bachelorette parties take over Thursday- Sunday so be warned. Have SO MUCH FUN! Nashville is such a cool place. Feel free to email with any questions.

Of course you've got to hit up Broadway for all the live music. 'Tootsies' is so iconic and was my favorite when I was in Nashville just a couple weeks ago. Whichever band is playing at 'The Stage' Saturday nights at 10:30PM, is the "it" band right now, so def go check that out! ACME Feed & Seed is great for Sunday Funday. Delicious brunch options and a rooftop patio to view downtown, the river, and the football stadium! Have so much fun!!!

My favorite area in Nashville is 12th South. Great shopping and eats! Bar taco, Five Daughters, & Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream are some of my favorites! Of course going downtown is a must too. Tootsies is fun and so is The Big Band Dueling Piano Bar. Enjoy! It's a wonderful city!

Charlie Vergos Rendezvous, hands down the best BBQ in Memphis. A local staple since 1948 - the dry rub ribs are to-die for! Have fun!

My husband swears by Central BBQ in Memphis!

Yep!! I'm with Emily - I'm actually live in Franklin and I'm from Memphis too! I would recommend Tops BBQ and you have to get a Gibson donut before you leave. Melt in your mouth! In Nashville, you have to do the honky tonks (Broadway) just to expereience it and see all the "wooo girls" (bachelorette crazy here!), 12 South is my favorite area for small shops and food, definitely get some Hot Chicken at Hattie Bs, and hit up Arrington Vineyards near Franklin - south of Nashville. Hope y'all have an amazing time! TN is pretty fun! :)
