Pumpkin Patch Kids | 2013

After being rained out over the weekend, I was hoping for Evan Andrew's promised beautiful weather this week- and oh has he delivered!  I am diggin' this fall weather.

Monday afternoon me, daddy and the twin babies headed out up the street to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch
The girls were such great sports- I was actually shocked at their contentment sitting in the wagon while we picked the perfect pumpkins.   Parker was in an exceptionally fowl mood from the moment she woke from her afternoon nap and the entire trip to the Patch.  I was a little nervous at how this was all going to pan out, to be honest.
This just confirms that we for sure will have a wagon on their birthday/Christmas list.
'Hiiiii pumpkins'  Waving 'hi' and 'bye' is a new trick we have recently perfected.  Blowing kissed is next on our list!

Lead the way, Daddy!

We realized that Parker is terrified of grass/hay.  She is NOT having it.  Full on stiff arm/leg panic mode for this one.

We found the perfect one!  Look at that stalk!  Its all about a healthy stalk in my opinion.

Surprisingly enough the girls sat quietly up until this moment- Jolie stood up briefly while daddy made silly faces at them.

After we got home, we chose a special place for our three pumpkins we picked at the Pumpkin Patch- Such a great afternoon with our littles!

Candy Corn Legwarmers // c/o The Hair Bow Company
Onesies // Walmart (similar)

Totally loving those leg warmers??  The Hair Bow Company is an amazing resource for whole sale baby gear- including leg warmers, bloomers, hats, tutus, hairbows.  You name it- they probably have it.. and they are cheap, cheap, cheap!  We also have this ruffle butt pumpkin onesie- but it was a little too chilly that afternoon for bare baby arms.

Right now all of their Halloween apparel is on clearance and they've brought out their Christmas goodies- and let me tell you.. I'm making my list!

Now through October 18th you can use the discount code 'massey' and receive 10% off your purchase!

Happy Fall ya'll!

Baby Paparazzi /pɑːpəˈrɑːtsi/, /pæpəˈrætsi

I love my weekends.  Even when its so busy and Sunday comes to an end and I crash land into bed and fail to make so much of an eye flutter for the next 8 hours..

That's what kind of weekend we had- and it was oh-so-fun:)

My weekend always starts on Thursday (hello amazing) even though technically I work on Fridays from home- its really just emails and being available for a phone conference when needed.  This week I made sure to get all my crap done so I could be out of email jail by Friday:)

Mean muggin' with Jo before bed on Thursday night

and belly laughs with Parker.  You cant see it, but she has yogurt ALL over her face.  We really enjoyed dinner that night.
Friday morning was a gorgeous start to our busy weekend- On the agenda for the day? Breakfast at Ol' South Pancake House before heading out to the Fort Worth Zoo.
I LOVE the zoo.  I turn into a 7 year old kid when we walk through those gates.  First stop is always the giraffes..
and then the eleeeephaaants!  New babies on the block!  Two elephants were born within just a couple of weeks of one another.  They only have them out a couple hours a day- and we got a chance to see these precious little guys- Bella and Bowie
This is the girls' second time at the zoo, and I can tell a major difference in observation this time over the last.  Jolie and Parker were both really into all the animals.  Pointing and jabbering over what they saw.  I am totally digging being a momma.
Loved the fishies for sure.
Daddy showing Parker the birds
Sister had fallen asleep in the stroller, so Parker and I went into the bird house to see if we could feed them
She studied that little guy so hard.  Super interested in what it was doing.  The bird was really docile and even let Parker touch its head when she reached up.  Then the birdie nibbled her finger a little and the look on Parks' face was priceless. No crying, just surprise.
Zonked for an afternoon nap before lunch
Parker followed suit.
More animals!  This turtle was gigantic.  I had to get a picture- which totally doesn't do justice.
It was such a good day with my little family!  We got to see so many of the animals- going first thing in the morning is the best time- that's feeding time and so all the animals are out and waiting.
Saturday we had big plans to go to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Village and just as we pulled out of the driveway, it started to sprinkle.  BOO!  A cold front was blowing through and the weather was sort of blustery with the wind kicking up and making those sprinkles feel bigger than they were.

So- we started our errands early and brought the Parker and Jolie traveling show to Costco.  How precious do these two look?  I mean- I totally have the 'mom goggles'.. but, you can't deny their cuteness.  As I was taking this picture- there was another random couple taking a picture, too!  They have twin daughter that are in college now and wanted to send it to their girls:)

Crazy pants
Totally blurry, but SO silly.  Couldn't leave this one without documentation.
Heyyyyyy sister
Ok- enough with the pictures in the bakery section of Costco.  People be like 'that woman is nuts.'

Yes.  Yes I am.
pumpkin.overload.  The rain didn't stop us from loading up our cart at Market Street with plenty of Cinderella Pumpkins and gourds for the front porch.  I LOVE this time of year!
After our crazy antics at Costco and pumpkin hunting at the grocery store we dropped the little bits with their BB for the evening while Jordan and I grabbed a bite to eat before heading to church.

I took the liberty of ordering my birthday coffee at the 'Bucks.  Cool weather, coffee, and channeling my inner lumberjack makes Jesus smile just a little bit wider from above.
Sunday morning I headed out early over to Ashley's to prep for showering our sweet friend Jacqueline and her expected baby girl Juliette (Due in December)
Everything turned out amazing and I can't wait to share the pictures with you!  We had a great turn out and it made me even more excited to meet that baby!
After the shower Jordan and the girls headed our way and we watched the Cowboys (such a disappointing game!) and ate pizza.
Busy bees feeling right at home- per the usual.
Another one of those weekends that was non stop and Friday at this point feels like forever ago.  I wanna go back!  Anyone else wishing Tuesday was the new Friday- Say 'ayyeee'

29

One week into my 29th year I've come to a conclusion.. 29 is going to be WAY better than 28.  Not because I feel much different at all, but because of what I get to do my entire 29th year, and for many year after that.  Be a mom.

Bomb diggity.

My birthday {weekend} this year was super low key and spent with the most important people on this planet: my friends and family.

On my actual birthday Jordan and I spent the day carting around the girls and running errands as a family.  Of course by errands I mean shopping and eating- so this included a stop at the mall to pick out something cute at my favorite clothing store (ok- so a couple of 'somethings'.  LOFT was having a sale and I birthday guilted Jordan into buying me stuff.  Nothing in particular, just stuff.)

After being without my teddy for a longgggg week, we stopped into Build a Bear just to check out pricing.  Before I promised Miss Jolie a Build a Bear of her own, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be spending $37 on a stuffed animal and a 'special' fabric heart that was 'rubbed with love' before being stitched together.  I figured she was a little young to actually enjoy that experience anyway, so I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg.

To my surprise those bears were cheaper than I had expected.  We showed Jolie a few of them and of course she was giddy with excitement- so freakin' precious.  When we turned to leave, she shrieked with sadness because we weren't leaving WITH a bear of her own.

Well okay then, little bit.  We can play! Parenting win number one: Always give your child what she wants.  (Read sarcasm here.)

I knew she wanted one- and I wanted my bear back, so it was a win win for everyone.

I was amazed at her delight and participation with the whole thing.  Parker.. she could care less about the entire ordeal and sat quietly in the stroller just observing the insanity over a teddy.. err.. puppy dog.  Judged us all over the course of 11 minutes spent in that store.

 The puppy comes alive!
 Wrapped around my finger.  Definitely.

She carried that thing everywhere in a death grip for the remainder of the day.
The rest of that day was spent with more shopping and more eating.  We ended the night at Cheesecake- overstuffed and sleepy.  And then I went home to eat some ice cream.

It was my birthday so I was allowed.

Saturday Jordan and I headed out to the ballpark to watch the Rangers play in one of the last games of the season.  We opted not to take the girls this time- Our tickets were very close to the field and was not shaded- and so not good for the baby skin to be exposed to the sun for that long.

They had a fun play date at their BB and Poppa's house with Aunt Jenna and Cousin Kendall.
Baby chatter is oh-so-cute if you ask me!

Happy Birthday to meeeeee!  We met Ashley and Jarrett at The Snooty Pig for breakfast before heading out to the game.  Ashley walked up with cuppy cakes, and of course it was appropriate at 10am to eat 7 cups of sugar in one sitting. Its still my birthday.  I can do whatever I want.

 13 rows up!
Kettle Corn is amazing.  I have recently discovered  this salty sweet goodness. Why have I been missing out?  And how amazing did it taste at the ball park?!
Before the rain.. The game was originally Saturday evening, but MLB decided to change it to 11am due to risk of rain.  We got rained on anyway..
Actually.. it poured.  And it was SO fun.  The game was a really good one, so it made it even more fun to root for our Rangers while it was down pouring.  I kept wishing for a hat.  Maybe I would have left with a little make up on if I would have had one.

After the game I got a hot shower and cleaned up enough to meet Jordan's family for dinner at Blue Goose and then.. yes.. more cuppy cakes.  YUM!

28 was a year of change- so many exciting things happened while 28 and I will never forget it.  29 has already begun and its amazing.  I can't wait to see what it has in store for me.  I can already tell its gonna be greatness.
