Brady Jordan | Newborn Photoshoot

I'm in MAJOR disbelief that we are closing out Brady's 5th week of life- how in the world did we get this far ALREADY.  time flies when you are having fun.. and/or not sleeping..?   I have to give him more credit than that because he does sleep well through the night and only wakes once to eat, but its just the day to day that is complete chaos and keeps us all very busy and exhausted!

I've been hoarding these sweet newborn photos until after I was able to send out Brady's newborn announcements mainly because I'm weird like that and didn't want to "ruin" the surprise in the photos I selected for the card.. see, weird and a little OCD.  for the first time ever Jordan and I included ourselves in the newborn photoshoot and I loved how they turned out.  a lifestyle shoot just 7 days after Brady was born was just a little bit hectic: consisted of one giant screaming meltdown by a teeny toddler to be unnamed, another kid that refused to smile and pouted over nothing her mother could ever understand, and I basically died of sweat the entire time.
..but Brady slept through the whole thing.
thank goodness.

celebrating Brady // baby boy sip + see

we celebrated our baby boy yesterday with the sweetest and most thoughtfully planned sip and see by my girl Brittany, my sweet mother in law, and her bestie, Teresa.  Teresa loves my family big.. while I was nursing Brady in her room yesterday before the party started I noticed pictures of my girls framed next to her bed and on her dresser.. made my postpartum heart swell with thanks because of women like her in our life.

we invited friends + family for a small gathering to meet baby Brady, eat appetizer foods (I could seriously live off pimento cheese and chicken salad!), yummy cupcakes initialed with the letter "B", and sipped coffee and lemonade as we loved on our little Massey.  it was such a fun afternoon!

the lovely pearl + jane made a banner and cake topper especially for Brady and my mother in law got crafty with the scrap banner she made herself!

my little photobomber!  Parker asks me to take pictures of her and Brady all day long.  I love the way she loves him
we finally got home and did the chaotic dinner + bedtime dance with three little ladies and in the quiet aftermath of the day Jordan and I ate left over cake and watched one of our many DVR'd shows to wind down before we got into bed ourselves.  this little guy was zonked out and slept hard until he woke early this morning to eat.
so thankful for everyone that came and shared our joy over this babe!

Easter 2017

the days after a holiday weekend are SO slow.  yesterday was filled with rainy day snuggles and bottomless coffee.  Jordan was at the fire station and the girls and I.. plus the teeny baby boy didn't leave the house.  Baker didn't even get up until almost 11am!
Easter weekend was beautiful and filled with family, friends, and so much fun!

Saturday started bright and early with brunch + egg hunts with our Supper Club crew. we have made the effort this last year to get the kids together for holidays and its proven to be SO rich and so much fun for all of us!  we ate waffles + bacon, dyed easter eggs (which Parker and Jolie have never done before!) and hid eggs in the front yard of the Tapella's house for the kiddos to find.  there were also a couple dozen confetti eggs and everyone had the best time smashing them on each other's heads.. I am still fishing confetti out of Jolie's hair two shampoos later:)

the guys and their toys. Trav has a new drone he's been playing with.. the boys were totally intrigued.  the best part: he was able to video the entire "egg hunt" from above. SO cool!
we even were able to take the greatest selfie with that drone.
Supper Club Easter 2017
after brunch we headed over to meet the Massey's for Easter Linner (lunch + dinner)!  we ate ham , mashed potatoes.. and chowed down on deviled eggs!  we hid more eggs in the front yard for another hunt with the cousins.. holidays are the BEST time with kiddos involved.

the egg hunt LOOT! we didn't make it out to any public egg hunts this year, but hiding eggs in the front yard was just a much fun and way less stressful than the big hunts with masses of people and not enough eggs.

I swear the bloopers are almost more fun than the posed..
covered in babies from head to toe.. I am loving every moment of this chaos.
Sunday morning we got up and barely made it to service on time..and then headed across the street to 7 mile cafe, which has turned into our new favorite brunch spot.  we find a reason to go just about once a week!  their chicken 'n waffles is my FAVorite and Jordan loves the biscuits and gravy.. but they have about 5 different Eggs Benedict options on their menu, too.. and they are all delicious!
we spent the rest of the afternoon at home with just the 6 of us.  we dug into the Easter baskets, watched movies, and hung outside on the patio because the weather was just right.  you could tell it was about the rain because the coolness in the air but it held out until later int he evening.  Brady looked absolutely darling for his first Easter.. I am totally having the best time dressing this little guy. now if only he would start filing out all these clothes I have for him:)

I hope you all had the most beautiful Easter!

Brady's first bath

Brady got his first bath last night.. along with the help of about 400 little mother hen hands.  right before heading out the door for his 2 week check up at the pediatrician I noticed his belly button had finally fallen off- this is always like a mini milestone to me/us
a baby's first bath!
I'll never forget Jolie and Parker's first bath- Jordan was terrified to hold them in the water so I pretty much did it by myself.  baths took about an hour to do for both of them when it was all said and done.. being able to bathe them at the same time was a game changer!
Baker screamed through the entire thing only to be silenced by Parker when she unknowingly dumped about a half a cup of water over her face/head.
that might have been my first freak out with three kids.
Brady, on the other hand, loved it.. for the most part.  the warm water spilling over his baby head and a sudsy rubdown from his three older sisters, this was definitely a family affair and something the girls have continued to chatter on about!  it seemed chaotic and crazy in the moment but looking back at these pictures it was like a luxurious little spa date for our handsome man!

I can never repay Brittany for her talented hand in capturing these special moments with our family.  she's taken thousands of images of me, Jordan and the kids. such an amazing friend and sister, not to mention that my girls absolutely adore her.. bonus for me.. she happens to be awesome behind the camera.
