Valentine's Day weekend in pictures

happy monday, folks!
this weekend was rather low key, but filled with family and friends.. and the complete loss of my voice.  conversations have been exhausting and I'm hoping it returns soon!  BUT it didnt stop us from celebrating this weekend-o-love with some of our favs!
beanie // onesie c/o // tights
this.  this girl.  she has some internal alarm clock that tells her its time to wake before 7am every single day.  when her dad is at the fire station.. this is what I wake up to.  my bed is full of either puzzles or books or both.  we are really adamant about making them stay in their bed until 7am or later- and often it is a result of telling her to get back in bed until the green light on your alarm clock comes on.  it usually works and then sometimes its just sweet to let her play quietly while the rest of the house is asleep.
friday night we were desperate for dinner on the patio somewhere- the weather has been unreal!  this week its supposed to be in the 80's (gasp!).  we met auntie and uncle j for mexican food and then headed back to their house for dessert.
uncle j's specialty.. pizookee!  chocolate chip cookies topped with ice cream topped with chocolate syrup.  the big girls were digging it!

..all while the babes slept soundly.
saturday we went to jenna's, let the big girls and truett play on their new outdoor play set and then had dinner + dessert together.  I got zero pictures.
I have bene having really bad insomnia lately when Jordan is gone to work..so I found myself on pinterest and midnight eating a bowl of cereal and decided to try my hand at a fancy valentine's day chalkboard:)
we DIY'd these doors months ago and this was my first time to really break them in.
sunday morning Jordan came home bearing gifts for the big girls.. so sweet!
they were SO excited about their valentine's day gifts from their daddy!
sunday night it was our turn.. dinner out sans kiddos.
a long time coming and much needed.

I hope you all had a great weekend- and felt big love from your people.
xo!

hey hey friday

I've never been so excited to see the weekend.  but this week was pretty good!
Here's a little recap of my favorite moments from the last few days..
Monday I worked from home and took a break mid-day to get the babes out the house for a bit at the park.  It was c o l d outside and I didn't even realize it before we got there, but in the sun it was actually really nice.  me and B sat on a blanket while parker and jolie played with some of the other kiddos there.  being outside is definitely among her favorite places to be!
also.. we have recently fallen in love with these pacis - and my child that didn't care a single thing about them before really loves them these days.
also.. my sweatshirt is another FAV and I haven't taken it off since it arrived on my doorstep.  I ordered up from my usual size and its still pretty fitted.
you can also find baker's bow here and onesie here- btw.. its the most amazing onesies you'll every buy.
wednesday I had work meetings including a lunch with one of my clients.  I snapped a quick selfie in the fancy bathroom because I needed to document my first wear of the most amazing jacket I own.  its the perfect layer for when its not freezing but too chilly for just a single layer.  its a pretty great transitional piece into spring.
also- this dress via groopdealz (it has pockets!!)  and those suede wedge boots have quickly become a staple in my winter wardrobe.
 one word: avocado.
BLW is going pretty well.  Somedays she can house a banana or a handful of sweet potato cubes- and on this night she ate every bit of 1/4 of an avocado, and others she's not super interested.
Taking it one day at a time:)
we've had more sink baths in the last two weeks than ever in my three years of parenting.
this girl and her snuggles.  especially after bathtime when she is most delicious!
dad made our first fire of the season- and the twins wouldn't stop talking about 'the fire truck!!'
I also had my first failed attempt at using the crimper iron.  I ordered it earlier this week after we have been having fun with braiding the girls' hair and letting them sleep on it wet.  lets just say- and its terribly clear by the picture.. mama needs more practice.
I've had dinner on the table almost every single night this week!
steak + pasta + taco bowls ... that hasn't happened in a long time.  I was about to start on dinner last night and jordan mentioned pizza.
that was all she wrote.
so!  thats our week! we have a crazy busy weekend ahead and I cant wait to recap on monday!
happy friday:)

Be Merry

Taking a break from the gift guides (sorry jordan) and sharing a little of our life this week.  it was one for the crazy and two for the blows that just kept rolling in it felt like.  nothing completely irrational or even worth mentioning, but one of those weeks where you feel like just one.more.thing. might just send you over the edge to crying a bucket of tears.  but really all you can do is laugh.
well.. one more thing happened for me yesterday morning..
baker was up at her normal time of about 6am to eat- got her up, changed her diaper, and sat down in the rocking chair to feed her.  same routine.  happens everyday.  all good.
yep.
around 8am when she woke for the day, i walked into a happy baby girl chatting up the walls, her hands, her feet.. basically anything that would catch her attention. i love those giggles in the morning!  i picked her up- and she was sopping.  the size 2 diapers are just a tiny bit too big and she's been known to leak after a long night.  Picked her up, pulled her out of her sleep sac and then went to change her.

no diaper.  nope. no diaper at all.  poop and pee everywhere but in her diaper BECAUSE SHE WASNT WEARING ONE.  i'm tired.  obviously.

so.  there's that.

overall it was a good week- as we approach this weekend i continued to be over emotional about one very special occasion- my big girls are turning three on sunday.  T H R E E.  where has time gone?  they are bigger than ever before and radically rock my socks with their understanding and wit on a daily basis.
postpartum has not been good for my skin.
parker noticed while looking at scratch across her nose..
"mama- i match you with you boo boo on you cheek."
yep.
after propping jo up on the potty..
"get out."
talking about 'birthday time' this weekend..
"are you turning three this weekend??"
"yes i am three!!"
"are you going to eat CAKE??"
"its MY CAKE!"
"are your friends going to come over??"
"NOOOOOO!"
"... parker.  whats your problem?"
"i don't want my friends to come over and eat MY CAKE."
worst part about birthdays, chick.
life lessons.
BB and her marvelous way of putting together my house spent a couple days this week decorating for christmas.  i love this time of year- but HATE decorating.  i have the eye but not the patience.  anyone else with on that?  i mean- i would leave decorations up all year round if it were appropriate.

this weekend will be a GOOD one.  today i am prepping for their 'milk and cookies' birthday party on saturday.. saturday we party on with close friends and family and sunday we have grand plans to make a trip to the zoo for the twins actual birthday on the 6th.

the first week of december has already passed us by in a snap.  its such a magical time of year i want to take it all in.
happy friday!

weekend-y favorites

This first official weekend of November was so good!  We went from no 'real set plans' to rocking and rolling through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday never skipping a beat.
Friday we made reservations with some friends at a new local restaurant that people have been raving about, and let me tell you.  If you are a local.. get your empty belly to The Table.
The house wines.  the featured local craft beers.. THE FOOD.
We sort of ordered a mix of things and passed the plates around the table.
House made salt + vinegar chips
a couple flatbreads (the chorizo + the mushroom were delish!)
I ordered the Schnitzel
Jordan had the Wagu Filet
I had a couple bites of the Table Burger
r o l l us outta there and on to the Zac Brown Band Concert.  I pulled out my boots and enjoyed some good old country boy music on the lawn.  Once again, after wearing my boots I always swear I'll wear them more often.
...and whats a little pie action at midnight on our way home??  I feel like I could have ended the weekend with Friday night alone and called it the best weekend everrrrr strictly on the food that was consumed.
Once again we ate the pie family style.  From one to four..
lord of the pies (this was our number one pick because there was a scoop of ice cream)
buttercream gang

the nannerz
Emporium Pies was legit.  And thank goodness I was wearing leggings.
No zipper.  No buttons. No problems.
Saturday morning was S L O W moving. The babies didn't care that we poured ourselves into bed at one AM.  We met some church friends and their kiddos for breakfast at chick-fil-a and then left to run errands until we headed home for nap time for everyone.
Somehow the girls got the memo that their mama and daddy needed a snooze because all three of them napped for over three hours before we woke them to head on to Saturday service at church.
After church Parker insisted we get some cheeeeeps and SALsa, so the consensus was Mexican food to end the night.
bow // tee // cardigan (no longer available) // shorties // tights
The best part about Saturday night church is sleeping in on Sundays.  Jordan let me and baby B sleep until well past 8am.  This girl was in THE best mood and hung out with mama most of the morning and into the afternoon.
Oh.  We also found our toes.
Miss Baker proceeded to be the cutest little thing I have ever seen.
While Baker had her mama wrapped around her finger, Jordan was outside with the twins starting a little project for the kitchen.
Lets not look too quickly past this sweet picture of Parker and her daddy.
Parker - my non-girlie girl, and her Mickey Mouse tool belt.  Sweet girl is her daddy's "right hand man".  LOVE.IT.
This 'project' isn't going to be a crazy change, but the girls will love it and I'll share about it when we get it all done.
In the meantime: Baker is still sucking her toesies and mama is making 6 pans of my Mexican Chicken Tamale Casserole (HERE).  A handful of gals in my home group agreed to do a 'freezer meal swap'.  I left the house for home group on Sunday night with 5 pans of chicken casserole and came home with chili, 2 different kinds of winter soups, chicken pot pie, and a gigantic pan of lasagna.  It was well worth the effort to spend a couple hours in the kitchen on a Sunday afternoon to have hearty meals planned and prepared for the next couple weeks.
personalized stationary cards
Jordan and I were home just in time to see the Cowboys head into overtime with the Eagles..and we kept our losing streak going in the end.
Either way, these are my Sunday Priorities.
And now its the start of a new week- and I feel ready for it!  After a fun weekend of friends and fellowship I feel refreshed after last week's business and fog.
Happy Monday, XO!

Halloween 2015

f r i d a y
This weekend there were so many firsts, and not just for the little miss Baker Bree.
Friday we kicked off the Halloween festivities right with carving pumpkins.  Parker and Jolie have never carved pumpkins..and to be honest, Jordan and I have never carved a pumpkin together.  Ever.  While we were getting ready to carve that realization came upon the both of us around the same time.. this was sort of exciting to be experiencing this first as a family.
The twins kept sticking their face in the pumpkin and pulling away saying 'kunkin staaaanks!!'
Simple solution, girlfriend..quit putting your face into it.
They were almost terrified about touching it, until daddy convinced them to help.  Parker was first and the excited squeals came so Jolie, of course, wanted her turn!
Princess Jolie getting her hands dirty
Their faces say it all!  I loved doing this with them!
After a quick pinterest search for easy ideas for Jack's face, we decided on this- and it was perfect!
Friday night we headed over to Auntie and Uncle J's house for Supper Club, and of course Auntie never fails to spoils our kiddos.
Frankenstien + Witches + and our little baby Punkin's
The glow in the dark masks were almost as big of a hit as the buckets-o-candy the babes helped themselves to before dinner.
YOLO, my friends.
Miss Parker talks about Uncle J's guitar nearly everyday.  She was smitten and nearly had a stoke when he pulled it out to sing a little tune.  Front and center ready to belt a tune right along with him.
Memories made like these make it hard to believe how many years have spent together as a group.
Baby number EIGHT will be here in t-minue t w o days.
 h a l l o w e e n
It rained and rained for two days leading up to halloween and of course I spent too much time watching the weather channel to make sure it would be dry enough to trick or treat.
Finally the rain let up- and we got dressed!
TMNT .. the girl versions as best this mama could make them.
crowns // masks // onesies // tutus // moccs
Shout out to Golden Hill Designs for making my Ninja Turtle visions come to life.  I was on a desperate search for the perfect lime green leotard and continued to come up with n o t h i n g.  Enter these sweet girls and completely rocked it out.
One billion photos later, it was time to trick or treat!  Parker and Jolie were bouncing off the walls.  We had been explaining the entire concept to them over and over for like a month.. hyping them up on TMNT tutus and candy, candy, candy!
We had a handful of little friends, BB+Papa, and Andrea and Sonny tag along with us, and we loved having the extra help in shouting TRICK OR TREAT!  I swear they had the trick or treating skills down after that first house.  I was so impressed with the excitement and understand of it all.  The girls were hilarious!  Parker would watch the person put one piece of candy in her bucket and then look up innocently as if to say.. 'thats it?'  It took everything I had to encourage Jolie NOT to plop down right there in the driveway of each house to open up her most recent candy score.
The Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, Donatello, Leonardo.. and their lame mama.  Jordan refuses to dress up- but I got away with TMNT t-shirts, anyway:)
We ran from house to house until dark- working up a real appetite!  We came home and threw some burgers on the grill, poured the apple cider sangria and turned on the television to whatever college football game was on.  The grub was relish and the company was even better.
the kiddo table
Parker, Jolie, Blake, + Giana
One half of the adult table.  Andrea and myself.. and the husband approved t-shirt.
I was terrible at getting pictures of the non-children.
Baker was getting her fair share of love from everyone.  Such a ham, this little girl!
The sugar crash was hard and bedtime was late.  After the guests left, it took everything I had to peel myself off the couch and into my bed for the night.  Such a busy day!
 s u n d a y
I would love to say that my girls took advantage of the time change and slept in the extra hour, but that would be a lie.  We were all up by 6am.
Church + lunch + groceries
Another busy day, but thankfully we were all in decent spirits from the late night before.
Such a great weekend with these TMNT girls, my sweet hubby, family and friends.
I hope you all had an amazing Halloween!
I am sad to see this fun, fun weekend go, but hellllooo its officially the holiday season!
Happy November!!
